Taylor Swift announced that her highly successful concert film, "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,' will be available for streaming on Disney+ on Mar. 15.
However, the singer known for "You Belong With Me" has faced criticism and backlash for her association with Disney, which has been attributed to the company's support of Israel.
"This week is truly the best kind of chaos. I'm thrilled to let you know I've found a streaming home for 'The Eras Tour Concert Film,'" the "Cruel Summer" singer wrote.
"[...] For the first time, we'll be showing the entire concert (including 'Cardigan,' plus 4 additional songs from the acoustic section!) and I'm calling it, huge shock, 'Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version).'"
This will be the first time the concert film will be available for streaming, after premiering last Oct. 13 via AMC Theaters.
It became one of the biggest, most successful concert films of all time, surpassing Michael Jackson's "This is It" and more.
Taylor Swift Working With Disney
Swift's relationship with Disney goes way before the announcement of her "The Eras Tour Concert Film" announcement, as she previously released the "Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions" documentary on Disney+ in 2020.
"'The Eras Tour' has been a true phenomenon that has and continues to thrill fans around the world, and we are very excited to bring this electrifying concert to audiences wherever they are, exclusively on Disney+," said Disney's chief executive, Bob Iger, in a statement.
Taylor Swift Fans Call Out Singer For Not Boycotting Disney
According to reports, Disney donated $2 million to Israel, along with other companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Starbucks, Boeing, Salesforce, Blackstone, and more.
This has led to many boycotts against the aforementioned companies, including Disney and Disney+.
Swift's fans called out the singer for continuing to work with Disney: "Y'all forget about the boycotts the moment Taylor Swift does something!!! fuck and boycott Disney+ just pirate it. My god."
"Continue to boycott Disney!!! this concert film could've easily gone to Netflix like her other films and instead, she gives it to the company that supports genocide. As far as I'm concerned Taylor Swift is a silent zionist hiding in sheep's clothing. KEEP BOYCOTTING!!"
"Reminder you DO NOT NEED to watch Taylor Swift's movie or whatever on Disney like either boycott or pirate I know that so many things are made by Disney but there is pressure on them now and you do not need to support them in any way."
