Odd Future Radio Station Launches: "Most Radio Sucks so We're Doing it Ourselves"

If you've ever wanted to listen to Odd Future and Odd Future curated music 24 hours a day, seven days a week, you are now in quite a bit of luck. Yesterday (Sept. 11), Tyler, The Creator and company announced that they had partnered with Dash Radio for its own 24/7 radio station.

In an email interview with The Fader, Odd Future's manager Christian Clancy announced the radio station partnership, noting that things could either go extraordinarily well or really, really poorly.

"[It] runs thru phone and online. app is free.. pick the station and hit play.. or listen at dashradio.com," Clancy said. "Basically a 24/7 commercial free station for their shows, their s**t, their friends and music they like.. live show on tuesdays. specials.. whatever they come up with. could be absolutely amazing or a complete disaster.. ha...go eagles."

The radio station launched at midnight, EST today (Sept. 12) and its DashRadio.com site claims that it is an "all format station" and Odd Future wrote the simple description that: "Most radio sucks so we're doing it ourselves. We play and do what we want."

Sounds like Odd Future, all right.

Odd Future seem to be the first musical group to have its own radio station on Dash Radio, which also features stations for each of the decades and genre-specific channels with titles like "The Ranch" (country), "Ratpack" (jazz), "Main Stage" (pop) and "Global Warfare" (hip-hop).

Dash Radio is available online and for Apple and Google Android devices.
