Disturbed is currently in the middle of touring for their "Take Back Your Life" series of concerts. More recently, the group decided to interact with fans and it made them pause a show for a bit when they found out that one of their supporters passed away due to addiction.

According to Audacy, the group performed at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT, on February 12, when they stopped the show briefly upon seeing one of the fans who held a photo throughout the concert.

Frontman David Draiman then asked the concertgoer about their story, adding, "You've been holding this picture up to me the entire show. What's going on?"

The fan, who got emotional during the interaction, explained that the person in the photo was named Mark whom she had known since she was 11 years old.

"He unfortunately lost his life to addiction on January 17th this year. It'll be a month on Wednesday," the fan added.

The fan further explained that what she was going through was "the hardest thing" ever.

Draiman leaned into the barrier to give the fan a big hug and comfort her as her emotions appeared to be heightened that evening.

The frontman later invited the fan named Kaylee on stage where he introduced her to the rest of the crowd at the arena for them to know the story about Mark Rivers.

In honor of her late friend, the band performed their song "The Light," then Draiman told the crowd, Unfortunately, not everyone gets saved. Not everyone survives the darkness."

He added that people needed to keep those who passed away in their hearts.

"All you have to do is just think about them. Keep them in your mind, keep them in your soul, and the people you love are never ever truly gone," he added.

Later on, Draiman said it takes the right song to bring them the memory back of those who they "deeply miss."

He then named some of his pals, who were also musicians, who sadly passed away like Chester Bennington, Scott Weiland, and Chris Cornell.

In other updates about Disturbed, the band will continue touring throughout February until their last show at Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, on March 3, 2024.
