Usher recently had a successful performance at this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show held at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he featured some of his former collaborators including Alicia Keys.

Many people on social media had mixed reactions when the R&B star gave his collaborator an intimate hug from behind after they performed their song "My Boo," but Usher broke his silence to set the record straight about the sweet encounter.

The headliner recently appeared in an interview with Charlamagne Tha God in an episode of "Breakfast Club" where he mentioned that the hug didn't mean anything bad.

"In no way anything that was done there should have been viewed as bad or in any way perverted or anything like that, no," he said.

He added that both of them were having fun as it was a track that he and Alicia Keys worked on many years ago.

"We celebrated because of the legacy of it. And no disrespect to anybody or anything like that," he added. (via Uproxx)

Aside from Alicia Keys, other musicians who appeared at the show as special guests were Ludacris, Lil Jon, H.E.R., Jermain Dupri, and will.i.am.

Weeks before the show, Justin Bieber was rumored to appear in the performance as Usher had been an integral part of his career since the beginning.

However, many were disappointed as the "Baby" hitmaker didn't take the stage and he only watched it from afar.

Usher, who just released a new album and will go on tour later this year, also clarified in the interview why Bieber didn't make it to the show, saying he's just "wanting to tell a different story right now" and he understands it.

He later clarified that there was "no love lost" and he's hoping for Bieber to headline his own Super Bowl Halftime Show in the future.

In other updates about Usher, the musician immediately left the venue after the Super Bowl and married his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Goicoechea.

They reportedly tied the knot and the ceremony was witnessed by Usher's mom, Jonetta Patton. This came after they got a marriage license in Clark County.
