To keep people in #TaylorMode before her album 1989 drops in October, the Taylor Swift camp is milking her "Shake It Off" video for all it's worth.
In the third version of outtakes that have hit the 'net (we've already seen the cheerleader and ballet segments), we find Swift mixing it up with modern dancers who look more sullen than silly.
"This modern dance segment is all about, like, angst," Swift says. "Extreme angst. And we're doing the kind of modern dance where it's like flex foot, extreme tension, and it's just so fun to dance like that to a song like this that's all about gleeful happiness.
"There's been so much cardio to, like, wear me out. We do several takes of each full pass of the song, and the whole time, I'm full out. And the dancers around me are full out. So we're all pretty wiped out, and then they get to go home, and I move on to the next style of dance. It's important to keep me moving."
The new clip features several interviews with Swift and a behind-the-scenes look at her modern dance scenes in the video that has already soared more than 90 million YouTube views (this outtakes video will likely hit a million views at some point).
This week, "Shake It Off" was knocked from the No. 1 spot on the charts by Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass."
According to Billboard, "All About That Bass" led digital single sales, on-demand subscription streams and clocked in at No. 2 on the overall Streaming Songs chart. The '60s inspired, bass heavy single sold 312,000 copies last week, edging Swift out of the top spot of that chart, too.
"Shake It Off" slipped to No. 2 after leading the Hot 100 for two weeks. Trainor shook Swift off in sales, with "Shake It Off" moving a cool 281,000 copies in its third week on-sale. As the buzz about the catchy new single died down, Swift lost major points in streaming, with a 20 percent decrease and 7 million plays total.
