Dua Lipa just entered a new era. She has already released two new songs, "Houdini" and "Training Season," off her latest album Radical Optimism. As the May 3 release date neared, the British pop star shared more details about her new project.
"[Releasing the album] feels good. It feels for lack of a better word -- radically optimistic," she told Billboard in an interview.
Later in the conversation, the singer opened up about the main inspiration behind her project, saying that the album was derived from "chaos" that she experienced in the past.
"Throughout the whole record, there's this idea of chaos happening around and me trying to push through it in a way that feels authentic and honest to me," she explained.
Dua Lipa Shares More Inspiration Behind 'Radical Optimism'
In a separate interview with Variety, the singer reflected on her previous record, Future Nostalgia, saying the album was something she envisioned back when people could have been out partying and listening to her music. However, since it was the beginning of the pandemic, the exact opposite happened.
She then shared details about her new album, saying it resonated with her these past years as she experienced many things and learned some lessons, whether they were good or bad.
Lipa also noted that she was inspired by some of the "most uncomfortable situations and in the most unexpected situations," which can be anything from a breakup with a loved one to having a relationship with friends and co-workers. "At any moment, life is so unpredictable and people and things can surprise you all the time," she added.

She revealed that the cover screams "radical optimism" for her as she is in a calm setting, and although she is in deep waters with a shark, she remains "calm and collected."
