SZA Responds to Accusations That Her Team Is Behind Music Leaks: ‘A Criminal Offense’

After the massive success of SZA's 2022 album SOS, fans have been waiting for her to release its deluxe version, Lana. But leaks of her unreleased tracks have sidetracked SZA's plans.

The singer recently responded to a fan who suggested that someone from her team had leaked her unreleased tracks. She was quick to defend her team, saying the songs were leaked by a hacker.

Leaked by Hacker?

As shared by Pop Crave on X, one fan insinuated that the leaks may have come from SZA's own team, but she revealed that her record label, RCA Records, already took action and did an investigation.

"RCA has scanned everyone's laptops. Producers managers and engineers no one has sent anything. This mean the information is hacked and stolen.. which meant it's a criminal offense," she wrote in response.

SZA Still Releasing Her Leaked Songs in the Future

In a separate post, as reported by Hot New Hip Hop, SZA revealed that she will still release the leaked tracks and outtakes from the SOS album as part of her deluxe version, Lana.

"Lana deserves more time and music no one's ever heard before seems fair. Bless," she added.

The musician then went on a rant to expose a person named "Janessa," who was said to have leaked her music. She said she was the one who released the photos and audio without the knowledge of her team.

SZA added that the woman deleted and deactivated her account before her record label took action, but she was able to screenshot her posts.

As of this writing, SZA has yet to share more details about the release date of her new music.

SZA at Glastonbury

The recent news comes after the Glastonbury festival announced that SZA, Dua Lipa, and Coldplay are among the headliners for this year's massive music event.

According to the Guardian, this will be the musician's first time performing at Glastonbury, and she will perform on the iconic Pyramid stage.

The event will will be held at the Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, England, June 26-30.
