Tom Sandoval is channeling his inner "Fighter" or at least shouting to the world that he is "Beautiful" by recreating Christina Aguilera's iconic Rolling Stone cover and fans are not impressed.
Tom Sandoval Recreates Christina Aguilera's Rolling Stone Cover
The star imitated Christina Aguilera's famous 2002 Rolling Stone cover, posing shirtless for a faux magazine in images Michael Ngo shared on Instagram Tuesday.
Sandoval, 41, channeled the "Genie in a Bottle" singer, who famously posed in nothing but a pair of boots on a similar red backdrop for her Rolling Stone cover shot.
The controversial reality star, who made headlines after cheating on girlfriend Ariana Madix with fellow Vanderpump Rules star Raquel Leviss last year, rocked heavy black eyeliner for the shoot, slicked back hair, and accessorized with a lightning bolt necklace.

"#MICHAELNGO️ ANIMA RELOADED: COLLECTION CAMPAIGN // @tomsandoval1 as STRIPPED x FIGHTER :: 2000's POP CULTURE REIMAGINED #ICONICS-T," Ngo captioned the post, inviting fans to vote for "MOST ICONIC XTINA ERA."
The designer also thanked the star for being game to do this photoshoot and being a total "rock star."
Netizens Hate It
But the post has garnered negative comments from the naysayers. While some of the comments were linked to the fact that he cheated and therefore does not deserve to do such a shoot, others said they could not stand him emulating one of the most iconic singers in this lifetime.
"He's in a cover band and now hes recreating a famous photo. This man has no original thought of his own. How embarrassing," one wrote.
Another said, ""Dude don't compare yourself to actual musicians."
One added: "I aspire to be this delusional."
True Aguilera fans would know that Rolling Stone cover is not the only thing iconic. The interview itself was memorable. At the time, Aguilera was singing the praises of casual sex and talking about love and professional difficulties.
She shared she was was managing her emotional turmoil from her upbringing as well as her feelings toward the men in her life in addition to her professional struggles. She had recently broken off contact with her management team because she felt they had overworked her and encouraged her to continue riding the lucrative pop wave.
