Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter Album Shatters Records Within Hours of Release

Beyoncé's latest album, Cowboy Carter, makes waves in the music industry in a groundbreaking achievement.

Within just one day of its debut, Spotify announces the album as the most streamed in a single day in 2024, per Billboard. This marks the first time a country album claims the top spot for most streams this year. Before Cowboy Carter's release, Beyoncé's hit track "Texas Hold' Em" tops the US Top 50 chart, amassing over 200 million streams.

The album showcases 27 songs, the latest addition to a possible trilogy project that began with Renaissance in 2022. With notable collaborations from Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Willie Nelson, and others, Cowboy Carter promised to captivate audiences. Social media platforms overflow with fan responses to Beyoncé's venture into the country genre. The project holds significant importance for the artist, given past experiences of feeling unwelcome in country music.

In an Instagram post, Beyoncé shares, "This genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me."

"Act ii is a result of challenging myself, and taking my time to bend and blend genres together to create this body of work."

On Friday morning, according to Pop Base, Cowboy Carter makes history on Amazon Music with the most significant album debut for Beyoncé.

It surpasses all past releases and garners a record number of first-day streams worldwide on Amazon Music. Notably, it sets a new milestone for first-day streams of a country album by a female artist on the platform.

Currently available for streaming on various platforms, Cowboy Carter showcases hit songs such as "Jolene," "II Most Wanted," "Bodyguard," and "Sweet Honey Buckin'."
