The 2024 CMT Music Awards announced its list of nominees on Mar. 13, 2024, including the sixteen videos vying for the top prize - Video of the Year.
Initially, 16 acts were nominated for the 2024 CMT Video of the Year category. Now, the organizers have announced that they trimmed the list to the final six nominees, slashing out ten acts.

CMT announced the sixteen nominees on Mar. 13, 2024. Through fan voting, they have been trimmed to the final six.

Billboard reported that all the six final nominees for the 2024 CMT Music Awards Video of the Year category are all vying for their first Video of the Year win.
Brandy Clark and Brandi Carlile's "Dear Insecurity, Brothers Osbourne's "Nobody's Nobody," Darius Rucker's "Fires Don't Start Themselves," and Jason Aldean's "Let Your Boys Be Country" were slashed from the said roster.
Kacey Musgraves' "Deeper Well" and Zach Bryan's "Nine Ball" were also removed, including Parmalee's "Gonna Love You," Tyler Childers' "In Your Love," Jordan Davis' "Next Thing You Know," and Mickey Guyton and Kane Brown's "Nothing Compares To You."
Kelsea Ballerini, who was also one of the most nominated artists this year, will host the 2024 CMT Music Awards on Apr. 7, 2024, at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas. The live telecast will start at 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and will be available for streaming on Paramount+. CMT will air the show for an encore on Apr. 11, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT.
Ballerini, Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, Megan Moroney, and Lainey Wilson are the most nominated artists, with three nods each.

CMT Music Awards Honors Trisha Yearwood
Variety reported that Trisha Yearwood will receive the first-ever CMT June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award.
She is being recognized for her philanthropic work, resulting from her two decades of passionately helping Habitat for Humanity, an organization she and her husband, music icon Garth Brooks, have long supported. The couple also received humanitarian honors from Habitat for Humanity in 2016.
Yearwood has also partnered with the American Cancer Society, the Stanford Women's Cancer Center, the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power & Potential, the Starkey Hearing Foundation, the Susan B. Komen Foundation, the Humane Society, and MusiCares, among many other initiatives.
