Zayn Malik opened up his new musical era with the release of "What I Am," but he's not done releasing singles before his upcoming album drops as he teased fans with a new song.
Taking it to his social media accounts, the musician shared a teaser of his new song, "Alienated."
In the black-and-white clip shared online, the singer could be seen writing something in a notebook, and it showed a glimpse of the lyrics of his new song.
"Alienated. I wrote Alienated first, and that kind of helped me mold and shape the sound even for like, the way I wanted to approach the sound of my own voice, and the sonic dound of everything else, like the guitars," he said in the teaser video which featured several behind-the-scene clips.
Zayn Malik to Release His Own Version of Blues
He added that he doesn't know what to call his new sound in terms of genre, but he thinks it's like his own version of blues.
"You can't really put them in a genre. They're just influenced by other music, but it's my version of it," he added.

Zayn Malik's New Album
The recent news comes after Zayn Malik announced his big return to the music industry after taking a three-year break.
The musician took to his social media accounts to announce that he will release a new album called Room Under the Stairs, which will be available for streaming on May 17, 2024. He already released its lead single titled "What I Am."
"I think the intention behind this album fully is for the listener to get more insight into me personally as a human being -- my ambitions, my fears," he said in a statement. (via Rolling Stone)
The singer reportedly wrote the songs from his album during his time in Pennsylvania, and fans should expect a raw version of Malik, who will sing songs from his heart. Fans should also expect "love, loss, pain, triumph, and humanity" within the tracklist.
The album is being co-produced by Dave Cobb and will be his first project under his new label, Mercury Records.
