Gwen Stefani is considered to be one of the most influential pop stars in the music industry. She has sold millions of records and became successful as a solo artist and member of her band No Doubt.
However, before she amassed this fame, the musician revealed that she struggled a lot because of her sacrifices, especially when juggling her time between work and being a mom.
The "Cool" hitmaker recently sat down for an interview with Nylon magazine, where she looked back at the problems and guilt she faced during the early days of her career. She had to work as a musician, which meant that she had to leave her then-husband, Gavin Rossdale, and their three children.
"If I didn't come home with a song, I'd be like, 'Oh my God, I'm such a loser - I didn't have dinner with my family, and I didn't write a song. I wasted an entire day of my life trying to be in No Doubt again," she said. (via Taste of Country)
Further reflecting on the early beginnings of her music career, Stefani questioned herself, asking why she tried to please everybody if she could have been with her family instead.
Regardless, the singer made it, and she created many "good songs."
Gwen Stefani's Struggles After Giving Birth
Later in the conversation, Stefani recalled that working as a musician and full-time mom to her children became a cycle, and she felt guilty for not being "more productive."
There was a time in her career when she wrapped up her Sweet Escape World Tour while nursing a baby and even working on her fashion line on the side.
Recalling her struggles, Stefani was exhausted as she said: "I was dead." Later on, the pop star became pregnant again with her son Zuma.
Following that, she became pregnant again and thought everyone was disappointed because people were waiting for her next move.
It was around when No Doubt went on tour in 2009, but Stefani opted not to join her bandmates because she already had two babies, and there were no ideas left in her mind due to her insecurities.
