Courtney Love left a bad taste in Swifties' mouths when she offered an unfriendly comment about Taylor Swift.
Several top female artists - including Swift, Lana Del Rey, Beyoncé and Madonna - became Love's topic in her controversial April 15 interview in which she bashed them while expressing her love for other female musicians.
After the interview with The Standard went viral, the artists' fans - especially Swifties - called her out for hating on the artists and being a hypocrite.
Courtney Love Receives Hate Over Her Recent Comments
On X, social media users lambasted Love and defended the female artists she bashed.
One said, "Courtney Love needed to make noise so she picked the top 3 streamed female artists on Spotify and made s--- up."
"Courtney Love [is] always coming for women younger and prettier than her, like go find something to do granny," a second wrote, while a third added, "100 years from now, the name Courtney Love will mean nothing. Not a single person will know who she is. But when Taylor Swift is mentioned, people will remember how she was able to connect with millions of people through her music, cherished her fans and fought for artists' rights."
Love was promoting her radio series when she celebrated women in music, though she did not share kind words with some A-list artists.
During the interview, she called Swift as someone "not important." She also declared she did not like Beyoncé's music.
On the other hand, she praised artists like Joni Micthell, Julie London, Patti Smith, Debbie Harry, Nina Simone and PJ Harvey.
Courtney Love Makes Headlines Decades After Kurt Cobain's Death
Prior to the interview, TMZ unfolded never-before-seen photos of Love and the late rocker Kurt Cobain, decades after his death.
The photos from Constance Hansen and Russell Peacock were taken during the "Family Values" photoshoot for Spin! Magazine in 1992. Love and Cobain's then-five-week-old daughter, Frances Bean, was also featured in the photographs.
The materials were released 30 years after Cobain died by suicide on April 5, 1994. He was only 27 at the time. There were rumors that Love had something to do with his death, but the buzz was previously debunked.
