"If you see a faded sign by the side of the road that says 15 miles to the Love Shack," it's for sale!
B-52's singer Kate Pierson is selling the desert oasis that she owns with her wife, Monica Coleman. The California getaway is a campground that includes six themed trailers, including Planet Air, Hot Lava, Tiki, North to Alaska, and Kate's Hairsteam. Each camper sleeps two people and is decked out with trippy B-52's memorabilia and colorful decor.
Consequence has revealed that the Mojave Desert-located property, just 15 miles away from Joshua Tree, does not have any light pollution. Therefore, its future owners will be able to enjoy stunning landscapes of a night sky full of stars throughout the campground.
Assets include a pool, as well as additional property nearby that has electric and water hookup, a septic system, and a house footprint.
Those who end up purchasing the grounds will also have easy access to the B-52's Las Vegas residency, with the Strip just being a short drive away from the area. The group has performances at the Venetian listed in April, June and November this year. Pierson, who is also a keyboardist for the band, is no stranger to renting out vacation properties.
Although they are selling their "Love Shack"-inspired campgrounds, she and her wife also own a vacation getaway in the Catskills. The 10-cabin lodge is called "Kate's Lazy Meadow" and it features award-winning lodging for modern travelers.
Featuring stunning views of the mountains and state-of-the-art amenities, the area has several cabins within a five mile radius of the main cabin. Those renting the property can have a "lazy weekend" with additional cottages including Kate's Lazy Cabin in Lake Hill, Kate's Lazy Lodge in Phoenicia, and Kate's Lazy Shack in Willow.
The couple also owns "Kate's Lazy Cape," in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Available to rent for $850 per night, the house is located in the outermost cape in Truro, Massachusetts. Described as the "ultimate beach house," the location has three private bedrooms and two bathrooms. It is walking distance from the Cranberry Hill private beach.
They operate the business together, and the lodging on each property is decked out with rustic, retro designs. Pierson may be parting ways with her Mojave desert compound, but the other two properties are still open for business.
Also known for hits like "Rock Lobster" and "Private Idaho," The B-52's are also composed of Fred Schneider, Cindy Wilson, Ricky Wilson, and Keith Strickland. After nearly 50 years as a band, the group embarked on a farewell tour in 2022. Since then, they have been playing their Las Vegas residency.
Pierson is a founding member of the group, who still performs with fellow original players Schneider, Strickland, and Wilson. Other current members include Tracy Wormworth, Sterling Campbell, Greg Suran, and Ken Maiuri.
