When they met on the set of The Voice during Season 7, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani found themselves lacking conversation topics.
Despite this initial hurdle, the country crooner and pop diva soon forged a creative partnership that blossomed into a romantic relationship by 2016.
Shelton and Stefani's Love
Shelton shared his initial encounter with the No Doubt front woman during the singing competition reality show. Their paths crossed when Shelton met Stefani while she joined as a coach for the first time on The Voice years prior.
During that period, she awaited the arrival of her third child, Apollo, conceived with her former husband, Gavin Rossdale. Stefani and the English singer parted ways in 2016.
Shortly after the punk princess filed for separation from Rossdale, she started dating Blake. At a similar time, he revealed his split from country star Miranda Lambert.
In a recent interview with ET, reflecting on their initial encounter, the country superstar from Austin shared that he and Stefani had very little conversation during her debut season on The Voice.
Becoming A Step-Dad
Shelton revealed, "You would see her out at the red chairs if there was a production meeting or whatever and I feel like I got to know Pharrell [Williams] more that year than I did Gwen."
After spending five years together, they tied the knot in 2021, marking a new chapter in Shelton's life as he embraced fatherhood for the very first time.
"If I could have a repeat of these past 10 years, [that] would be perfect," he claimed, reflecting on his life Stefani.
"Next month, we'll have an 18-year-old, which blows my mind that it already happened. And in a couple of years, we'll have another 18-year-old."
"And that's... it's gonna be I guess a lot more alone time, which I'm not mad about that either."
The "Minimum Wage" singer continued, "But we still have Apollo, so we have another almost 10 years before we can kick him out, so it should be a lot of fun."
Shelton also candidly acknowledged that entering parenthood has transformed every aspect of his life.
"I learned quickly, not because anything happened, but just, you know, reading the room, you've really got [to think], 'I have to take a step back,'" the Barmaggedon star suggested.
"When people say it's not about you anymore when you have a kid... I think, if you're doing it right, it's not about you anymore. That's true."
