Kid Cudi's Surprise Coachella Set Takes a Turn After Stage Dive Gone Wrong

Kid Cudi's performance at Coachella 2024 came to an abrupt stop when he sustained broke his foot following a stage dive gone wrong.

The incident happened during his set at the music festival in Indio, California, on Sunday.

Kid Cudi Stage Dive Gone Wrong

Attempting to engage with the crowd, the "Soundtrack 2 My Life" rapper jumped off the stage but landed awkwardly, resulting in a broken foot.

In a recorded video capturing the incident, Cudi, whose real name is Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, navigated toward the stage's edge, swaying hazardously before plunging over the six-foot drop and abruptly landing on the floor below.

With half of his performance time left, Coachella concertgoers eagerly anticipated one more song before the rapper unexpectedly wrapped up his set.

Following his performance of the song "Day 'N' Nite," Kid Cudi found himself writhing in discomfort on the floor, prompting security personnel to rush to his side.

To end the night on a high note, his chart-topping hit "Pursuit of Happiness" played over the speakers, but many fans were unsure how or why Kid Cudi had left the stage.

Kid Cudi Condition After Coachella

Kid Cudi shared on X, formerly Twitter, that he had been hospitalized due to a fractured foot and displaying a positive attitude following the shortened show. The rapper told his followers,

"Hey guys, so I broke my foot today at the show," he wrote. "Just leavin the hospital. Never broken a bone before so this is all a bit crazy."

"I wanna thank u all for ur concerns and well wishes!! I love yall man. I heard yall still ragin when I was offstage. Made me smile big."

Kid Cudi was not originally slated to appear at Coachella; the 40-year-old Ohio native stepped in to fill the slot Canadian singer AP Dhillon left vacant.

Announcing his last-minute set, Kid Cudi shared on Instagram "INSANO BOY IS COMIN," and a schedule and promotional poster for the upcoming performance.

Before injuring his foot, the "Cudi Zone" hitmaker wowed the crowd with popular songs such as "Tequila Shots," "Up Up & Away," and "Memories" alongside David Guetta.

He also showcased tracks from his recent albums INSANO and INSANO (NITRO MEGA).

Cudi is also eager to grace the stage once again in two months for his INSANO World Tour.

Following a six-month hiatus, Kid Cudi and his team are gearing up to embark on the upcoming European tour leg.
