Céline Dion looked back at her Grammy Awards 2024 appearance and reacted to the standing ovation she received from the artists and viewers.

After announcing her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis, Dion made a few appearances in different shows and events that surprised her fans. This year, she presented the Album of the Year Award to Taylor Swift for her Midnights album, though their interaction caused a controversy when the "Fortnight" singer allegedly snubbed Dion.

Céline Dion Opens Up About the Grammys 2024 Surprise

Speaking during an interview with Vogue France on Monday, April 22, Dion looked back at her Grammy Awards experience and the standing ovation she received during the February ceremony.

"It was very nerve-wracking, but at the same time, a big honor," she said. "That magic. That excitement. To see the fans, to see the crowd. To see show business again. It took a lot, a lot out of me. But my son, René-Charles - R.C. - came and gave me his support."

Dion, who previously won the Album of the Year Award for her Falling into You, said that presenting the Grammy to Swift was an honor because "The Tortured Poets Department" singer was "having the time of her life," and she got the chance to become the person to present the award.

"But it's always very, very touching when you have a standing ovation," she went on.

Swift suffered criticism when the viewers accused her of snubbing Dion. At the time, she hugged her friends and more people while accepting the award, skipping Dion who smiled awkwardly before looking down and moving to the back of the stage.

"My biggest disappointment of the Grammys was Taylor Swift winning Album of the year and hugging all of her people but taking the trophy from Celine Dion as if she was the hat-check girl, and not seeming to realize how very amazing it was that Celine was standing there at all," one said.

"Taylor Swift just took the album of the year trophy from Celine Dion without batting an eye and/or acknowledging that a legendary was handing her the award. So cringey for my soul," another shared, per The U.S. Sun.

However, the pair eventually quashed the buzz by posting photos of themselves on their respective social media pages.
