Katy Perry's recent appearance on American Idol left fans feeling disappointed and ignored as she seemed more engrossed in her phone than engaging with the audience.

Despite the electric performances from the top 8 contestants, Perry's off-camera behavior hinted at diva-like tendencies, drawing a stark contrast to her fellow judges' enthusiastic interactions with fans

According to reports from The Sun, Perry displayed a range of emotions during performances, yet her off-camera demeanor told a different story.

Perry's Diva Antics

A source revealed to the outlet that the "I Kissed A Girl" singer was seen busy on her phone during every break, showing little interest in the live audience.

"It was off-putting to see how she was so into her phone and ignored fans shouting her name," they said.

"Fans shouted, 'Katy! Katy!' and 'We love you, Katy!' and if anything, she would quickly turn around to glance at them but then go back to texting," the insider shared.

"She acted very cold toward the audience and would not sign any autographs or take any photos with them."

At the same time, fellow American Idol judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie showed great enthusiasm toward the audience.

The source said they eagerly interacted with the crowd, standing up occasionally to snap selfies, autograph posters, and even sign sneakers during breaks.

Perry, instead of mingling frequently, made only one gesture to fans by handing over a signed note card to a family member of one of the contestants.

Perry Noticed Fans Eventually

As the performance concluded, the "Dark Horse" singer spontaneously decided to approach three separate sections of the crowd for some well-deserved photo opportunities.

Following the lengthy standing session over three hours, with half the audience on their feet and the other half seated, fans were unexpectedly treated to complimentary gifts by Perry.

According to the source, "During one break she was going through her box of goodies that was underneath the judge's table and she took some treats and threw them into the audience."

"It looked like she threw a bag of popcorn, and then a bag of Sour Patch Kids, and then a chocolate bar."

Perry then reportedly had Doritos Cool Ranch bag to herself, indulging in a few chips until host Ryan Seacrest took to the stage once more.

While the "Wide Awake" singer was enjoying her snack and messaging on her phone during the intermissions, Ritchie and Bryan snapped pictures and freshened up their makeup.

According to the source, the two gentlemen judges received more frequent touch-ups on their makeup than Perry.

Ritchie reportedly opted for a makeup assistant to use a fan to cool his face, while Bryan had a makeup artist continuously apply face powder to his complexion.
