Fans have praised Kelly Osbourne for her weight loss, but some online users speculated that she might've taken Ozempic to speed up the process. More recently, the reality TV star and former singer set the record straight and claimed that she never took the drug in the first place.
The "Osbournes" star recently spoke with People magazine to defend herself amid the controversy surrounding her health, saying, "I just have to clarify, I've never taken Ozempic. I don't know what Ozempic does to you other than what I saw it do to my mom."
Even though she never had the drug herself, she defended Ozempic as it could be helpful for people if used correctly, adding, "I think that it is the miracle drug in the right hands."
Ozempic is an FDA-approved prescription drug intended for people with type 2 diabetes. However, over the past few months, it has become a common trend in the weight loss community.
"The pros outweigh the cons, and if you really research the kind of medication and what it can do for you cognitively and what it does for the rest of your body, like I said, it's a miracle drug," Kelly further explained.
The former musician later expressed her confusion as to why people who use Ozempic receive backlash from the public, saying that society is putting them in a bad light.
Not the First Time Kelly Osbourne Spoke About Ozempic
This wasn't the first time Kelly Osbourne spoke about the drug as she also denied using it in an interview with Extra in April, saying that people thought she took Ozempic, but she never did it in the first place.
The speculations came after Kelly lost over 85 pounds after she gave birth to her baby with Slipknot musician Sid Wilson.
She later noted that her mom, Sharon Osbourne, took the drug, and she had been open about it as she previously spoke about her experience in previous appearances.
In one instance, as reported by the New York Post, she noted that she didn't regret taking the drug as it worked on her.
How Did Kelly Osbourne Lose Weight?
In the same interview, Kelly explained that the reason why she decided to lose weight was due to her gestational diabetes, and she had to work on her health, especially after her pregnancy.
Instead of taking Ozempic, the reality TV star and podcast host followed a more natural diet by cutting out sugar and carbohydrates, which resulted in her fast weight loss.
In addition, she also discussed undergoing a procedure to contour her face and tighten her skin.
