Creed frontman Scott Stapp posted a cryptic message on Saturday following the news that his wife, Jaclyn Stapp, had filed for divorce.

The 50-year-old musician took to his Instagram Stories to share a video featuring a speech by preacher and motivational speaker T.D. Jakes about "leaving your opponent with dignity."

In the brief black-and-white clip, Jakes advised, "Speak without being offensive, listen without being defensive and always leave your opponent with their dignity."

This social media post comes after TMZ reported Jaclyn filing for divorce in May 2023, following previous filings in 2014 and 2022.

A representative for the singer told People on Friday that Stapp just wants to privately navigate this difficult time out of respect for their family.

The couple, who exchanged vows in 2006, have been blessed with three children: daughter Milan, 17, and sons Daniel, 13, and Anthony, 6. Additionally, Scott is the father of Jagger, 25, from his previous marriage to Hillaree Burns.

A representative for the mother-of-three also informed TMZ that she has been through significant challenges during their lengthy relationship and has made the difficult decision to pursue a divorce.

Jaclyn has previously initiated divorce proceedings against the musician, first in 2014 and then again in 2018, but each time opted to retract the decision.

In the initial 2014 filing, former Miss New York alleged that Scott had made threats against her and their children. She further asserted that his drug use led him to believe that biological weapons were en route to Florida.

Following a psychotic break that led to his placement on a 5150 psychiatric hold, Scott sought treatment at a clinic in Malibu. He has since credited Jaclyn for her instrumental role in helping him access the necessary assistance.

However, four years later, in 2018, she once again initiated divorce proceedings, only to call it off in early 2019.

Back in 2015, the artist publicly disclosed his bipolar diagnosis. He then at one point delved into the topic of mental health and his personal struggles with People Magazine. According to him, it's difficult to reach out and ask for help.

"I would never pick up the phone. I was white-knuckling it and just for some reason, the phone was 10,000 pounds," the star explained.

He said it's crucial to know how to ask for help. "It's definitely something that I would encourage anybody out there who's going through anything...You don't have to do it alone."
