Britney Spears recently took to Instagram to reminisce about her late grandfather, June Spears Sr., who passed away in 2012 at the age of 82.

In the process of her sharing, however, the 42-year-old pop star also reflected on being a breadwinner, saying working for her family is all that she was used to do.

Her poignant message was accompanied by a nostalgic picture of herself in the pool with June and a child, presumably one of Britney's sons. Britney welcomed both of her children, Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17, with her second ex-husband, Kevin Federline.

"Older man never had one !!! My grandpa passed away when I was 28 !!! I have always worked for my family because it's all I've ever known !!!" she wrote (as the original post seems to have been deleted, this quote is sourced from Daily Mail UK).

She then also hinted how men she dated in the past also wanted her to spend on them.

"The past two men I dated sent me list of things their children wanted and they wanted me to buy them !!!," she wrote.

She then hinted that she does not know how to have parents who genuinely took care of her and her needs.

"I wonder what it would have been like to feel like parents have their whole lives being taken care of !!!" Spears wrote.

This post comes amid concerns about Britney's mental health, sparked by recent events such as medics escorting her, disheveled and partly dressed, out of the Chateau Marmont in the early hours of the morning.

Less than three years ago, she was liberated from her controversial conservatorship, which began after her well-publicized mental breakdown in 2008, placing her father Jamie Spears in control of her life.

Last year, Britney released her memoir, The Woman In Me, which included a chilling recollection of her late grandfather June.

June's troubled past involved having his first two wives institutionalized, including Britney's grandmother Jean, who tragically took her own life at the grave of a son she lost in infancy.

In her book, Spears wrote she feels disgusted that she allowed her father and his associates to have so much control of her money.

"I think back now on my father and his associates having control over my body and my money for that long and it makes me feel sick... Think of how many male artists gambled all their money away; how many had substance abuse or mental health issues. No one tried to take away their control over their bodies and money. I didn't deserve what my family did to me," she wrote.
