Aminé Announces 'The Best Day Ever Fest' in Portland Featuring Kaytranada, Toro Y Moi and More

Aminé has announced a music festival of his own making: The Best Day Ever Fest, or TBDE Fest. The festival is set to debut on August 10 and 11 in Portland, OR. Edgefield Lawn will host the two-day event.

The X account for the Best Day Ever Festival posted an ominous "hi" last week, following up the next day with a tweet announcing that the festival is being put on by Aminé.

In a pre-announcement video, Aminé sits in a chair, chatting on his cell phone.

"I get it, Portland is your home. Seriously, consider Aminé-chella or Banana Loud. N--, I ain't gon lie, that sh-- would go crazy. Going up, movie!" he quips.

"This sh- really gonna be the best day ever. That's it, that's the festival name," realizes Aminé as the video draws to a close.

"A kid from Portland has his own festival," reads the clip's end card. Aminé also quote-tweeted the video with this phrase.

The account later posted a quirky promotional video, in which Aminé sits in a bright yellow helicopter flying over Portland.

"I'm in a helicopter right now, I can't talk. The Best Day Ever Fest!" says Aminé before listing off the names of the performers.

Artists to perform at the Best Day Ever Fest include: Aminé, Kaytranada, BadBadNotGood, Karrahbooo, Madison LST, Ravyn Lenae, Toro Y Moi and 3Way Heff.

"Be there, August 10, August 11. I'll see you there. The best festival you've ever seen, the best festival. 2024 don't, you don't forget the year," he continues.

"I stuttered on my wods, but it doesn't matter, we in a helicopter," finishes Aminé as the video draws to a close with a harmonious voice singing, "It's the best day ever."

Aminé quote tweeted the festival's post, writing "see you there" and attaching a helicopter emoji. Fans reacted with excitement, replying to the Best Day Ever Festival post with enthusiasm.

"Aminé is really him for our city," wrote one fan. Another deemed the festival "wonderful."

Social media users also pondered whether the announced artists would make up the event's full line-up.

"Not bad but no way this should be two days," wrote a user on the r/hiphopheads subreddit. Another replied, "I dont think the lineup is finalized." Other redditors and X users echoed these thoughts.

"Surely Injury Reserve/By Storm/RiTchie will be announced?" questioned another netizen. These three artists fall under the multi-genre umbrella of the festival's other artists.

The flyer for the Best Day Ever festival is bright and colorful, featuring drawings of trees, alcohol, bikers, a banana, a toilet, the sun, a balloon and more. On the festival's website, animated clouds float through the poster.

Aspiring attendees can sign up for a pre-sale code on the Best Day Ever Fest's website. Pre-sale tickets go on sale on Thursday, May 16 at 10 a.m. PT.
