The ongoing legal dispute over conservatorship between Cher and her son Elijah Blue Allman is set to stretch out further.

Recent legal records revealed by Radar Online indicate that the iconic 77-year-old singer and her 47-year-old son must wait until September 13 for their day in court. Initially scheduled for June 11, Cher's legal battle to assume authority over Elijah's affairs and finances has been delayed.

In their initial agreement, the duo decided to ease off their heated dispute over the conservatorship following Elijah's request to reject his mother's plea for his medical documents.

On May 7, Cher and her son recently engaged in a confidential mediation session guided by a retired judge.

Per the outlet, "At the conclusion of the mediation, the Parties agreed to pause all legal proceedings and related activities, including all discovery and motion practice, to allow the Parties to continue working together to privately and confidentially resolve this matter."

In a recent development, the "Believe" singer and her son have requested a postponement of their hearing date to address their concerns amicably.

According to the motion read by the outlet, "Having considered the concurrently filed Stipulated Ex Parte Application, and good cause therefor appearing, it is hereby ORDERED, ADJUDGED AND DECREED, as follows: The hearing currently set for June 11, 2024, is continued to September 13, 2024."

In December 2023, Cher took legal action to become Elijah's conservator, citing his struggles with managing finances due to mental health challenges and substance abuse.

Allegations surfaced that Elijah had depleted $1 million of his inheritance on a lavish lifestyle, including drugs and luxury accommodations, prompting Cher's intervention.

Per court docs, "Elijah is entitled to regular distributions from a trust established by his father for his benefit, but given his ongoing mental health and substance abuse issues, Petitioner is concerned that any funds distributed to Elijah will immediately be spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself, and putting Elijah's life at risk."

In declaring control over his affairs, Cher accused Elijah of struggling with addiction and mental health challenges.

However, Elijah refuted these claims, asserting his sobriety. He countered his mother's attempts by arguing that she was unsuitable to act as his conservator.

Additionally, Cher targeted Elijah's wife, Marieangela King, alleging that she did not back Elijah's recovery journey. Marieangela, however, refuted these accusations.
