Camila Cabello had to take a hiatus from listening to Lana Del Rey's music before their joint performance at this year's Coachella.
In a recent interview on Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, the "Senorita" singer revealed that she purposely avoided Del Rey's songs to prevent herself from becoming too overwhelmed before their collaboration.
"I just did Coachella with Lana... I had to not listen to her music for 4 days because I can't be a fan," Cabello said on the podcast. "Being a fan is tricky."
During Coachella's second weekend, Lana Del Rey invited Cabello on stage for an energetic performance of her hyper-pop single "I Luv It."

"This is my girl. I have so much fun with her. I love this song to death," Del Rey said at the time. "Thank you so much, angel, for coming to sing with me."

In the Armchair Expert episode, Cabello also discussed her upbringing as a devoted pop culture fan, reminiscing about her phases as a Belieber, Directioner, and Swiftie. She reflected on her acceptance into Fifth Harmony during her teenage years.
"I was such a big One Direction fan that I was like, 'Whoa, this is crazy. I'm living this reality," Cabello said. "I was immediately embracing of it. I was like, 'This shit is fire.' In elementary school, I pretended to be in girl groups with my friends. I was probably in four girl groups before Fifth Harmony."
"I could see as a fan how it's really interesting to see five completely different personalities. It's a crazy social experiment," she also shared.
Cabello has already worn many hats throughout her Hollywood career, which kicked off in 2012 when she auditioned for the X-Factor.
During her time on the show, she was grouped with fellow contestants Ally Brooke, Normani, Lauren Jauregui, and Dinah Jane, forming the iconic girl group Fifth Harmony.
Despite finishing third in the competition, Fifth Harmony secured a record deal with Syco Music and Epic Records. After collaborating on several albums, Camila made the decision to pursue a solo path.
In December 2016, the lead singer announced her departure from the group.
Since then, as a solo artist, Camila has released three albums and numerous singles. Her debut record, "Camila," released in 2018, resonated strongly with fans and the rest is history.
