Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck united after the marriage issues rumors swirled, but questions still arose afterward.
On Sunday, May 19, Lopez and Affleck were seen together again while driving in Brentwood, Calif. After not being seen together for nearly 50 days, the pair smiled at the camera.
After news outlets, including Us Weekly, shared the photo from the outing, critics called Lopez and Affleck out for allegedly staging the snap and claimed the "Justice League" actor looked teary-eyed at the time.
"[Ben and Jennfier] are the high school couple that can't exist without drama. It's exhausting!" one said.
"Hostages detained by terrorists look happier than Ben Affleck," a second wrote, while a third added, "Ben is a classic introvert who abhors life in the public eye. It must not be easy for him."

Reports said Lopez and Affleck started having problems before her scheduled 2024 tour. At the time, The U.S. Sun revealed they no longer spent time together due to their different personalities.
"The ground rules are, Jennifer and Ben are allowed to go off and do projects, appearances, and work that completely don't involve each other and definitely involve spending weeks at a time apart," the source shared. "These are passionate people who love to work, both of them and love to bet on themselves and the teams they have assembled around themselves over the course of decades."
Meanwhile, a recent ET report cited a source who claimed Affleck has been thinking that his wife "has a hard time feeling satisfied." The singer's "need for attention" also became a problem.
"Ben is one of the only people who feels comfortable enough to be honest and real with Jen. It's part of why Jen loves him, but also why she's upset with him," the insider continued.
Aside from living together, Affleck was also spotted publicly without his wedding ring. He also missed the red carpet event for her new sci-fi flick, Atlas.
On the other hand, the "On the Floor" singer has always worn her wedding band.
Affleck and Lopez's representatives have yet to address the recent reports.
