Just call him Lord Worldwide! Pitbull's 2011 megahit "Give Me Everything" can add another accolade to its tally: soundtracking one of the most highly-anticipated scenes of Netflix's third season of Bridgerton.

"This again shows the world how music is the international language that transcends over boundaries more so how a hit song can remain timeless," Pitbull posted on both Instagram and Twitter, sharing a clip of the scene in which this season's focal couple, Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington, confess their feelings to one another.

In the Instagram comment section, the official Bridgerton account added: "This author would most certainly agree with Lord Worldwide... Music speaks when words cannot."

Netflix's official account's reply was noticeably less measured in its excitement: "omg lord pitbull is officially part of the ton!!!"

Season 3 of the popular Netflix series is based on the fourth book in Julia Quinn's Bridgerton series, Romancing Mister Bridgerton. It follows the friends-to-lovers romance of Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlin), who moonlights as the mysterious gossip Lady Whistledown.

Spoiler alert, for those who haven't kept up with the inner workings of the ton: Penelope has long harbored feelings for her friend and neighbor, Colin, but she has given up hope of his returning her love and has committed herself to finding a husband during the ton's annual courting season. And then, things finally start looking up for the show's resident wallflower.

Last week, Bridgerton music supervisor Justin Kamps spoke with Netflix site Tudum about this season's song selection. The show is known for its orchestral versions of hit pop songs, and for using lush, string-heavy covers to give the Regency-era drama a relatable, modern soundtrack. Other songs used during the first half of this current season include Billie Eilish's "Happier Than Ever," BTS' "Dynamite," Gayle's "abcdefu," Nick Jonas' "Jealous," Sia's "Cheap Thrills," and "Snow On the Beach" by Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey.

"I think everyone was a little bit shocked that they were so in love with this Pitbull song cover for this sequence, of all things," Kamps said. "But the song is amazing, and it has this great build to it, and that's what the scene really needed. It needed this anticipation and then an explosion into the main chorus of the song as we see what's happening on-screen."

The scene in question is referred to as "the carriage scene" by both fans of the book and the show. In the lead-up, while at the Queen's Ball, Colin thwarts a potential engagement for Penelope, and she runs to her carriage, crying and humiliated. Colin chases the carriage down and during the ride to their neighborhood, the two confess their feelings to one another and things get ... spicy.

"It's an explosion of emotions for these two characters that has finally boiled over into this moment, and I feel like the song really reflects that," Kamps said of using the orchestral reimagining of "Give Me Everything" for the scene. "It's just like, 'This is it. Give me everything. Here we go. Let's do this.' And I feel like it's going to give fans and everyone who's been waiting for this such a cathartic release."

Kamps also called the original song "such a banger," which, in light of how the scene plays out, is either a bit of tongue-in-cheek foreshadowing or just extremely good musical selection. We're inclined to say it's both.

When Pitbull released the 4-minute song in March 2011, it went eight-times platinum in the U.S. and became his first No. 1 hit. In his posts celebrating the song's Bridgerton success, he shouted out his collaborators on the song, singer Ne-Yo and producer Afrojack. Singer Nayer was also featured on the original single.

Bridgerton is being released in two segments: Part 1 is out now, and Part 2 will stream on June 13.
