Billie Eilish considers her ex-boyfriend, Jesse Rutherford, as one of her "favorite people" in the world. Despite their romance going sour, their friendship has remained intact.

In a Rolling Stone interview, Eilish confirmed that she's on good terms with her ex-boyfriend, Rutherford.

"That's my guy, truly one of my favorite people in the world," she revealed.

To recall however, Page Six has reported that Eilish and Rutherford "amicably split," so their friendship to this date is also not that surprising.

"I plan on never dating again," she quipped before retracting. "That's not true, obviously. But no, I don't see myself being serious with anyone until I find someone that really feels right to me, and that is not interesting to me right now."

In August 2023, Eilish responded to a fan who asked about her relationship with Rutherford, saying that they're "very very good friends" and he's her "homie forever."

After less than nine months of dating, the two broke up in May 2023.

"We can confirm Billie and Jesse did split amicably and remain good friends," Eilish's representatives told Page Six at the time.

The couple was linked in October 2022 and eventually became official on Instagram in November 2022. In the same month, they made it red-carpet official at the 2022 LACMA Art + Film Gala.

Speaking to Vanity Fair about their time together, the Oscar-winning singer had this to say.

"I managed to get my way to a point in my life where I not only was known by a person that I thought was the hottest f-king f-ker alive, but pulled his ass," she told the publication.

Despite their short-lived relationship, many fans believe that some of the songs from Eilish's new album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, were written for Rutherford.

"Happier Than Ever was low-key about one person, and this album is about a lot of different situations," she confirmed to Rolling Stone. "I think that what's frustrating - the internet is very extreme. You can write a song about an experience that made you feel a type of way, and the internet is defending you or whatever, but suddenly it becomes this vicious [thing]. People are cruel."

According to Eilish, her "job" as a songwriter is to "write songs about whatever we feel that we want to write songs about."

"That's why I'm here. But the reaction can be really toxic, and I just don't want to do anything to accentuate that. I want to be clear: Please don't take it and run. Take it and feel it and sit there and understand and hear me. For the love of God, hear me and listen to me. They won't really listen, but I can say it," he concluded.
