Kelly Rowland broke her silence on the now-viral moment of her, snapping at one of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival security guards.
Speaking to AP News Entertainment, Rowland addressed the controversy and explained her side of the issue.
"The woman knows what happened, I know what happened," the former Destiny's Child singer said about the encounter. "And I have a boundary. And I stand by those boundaries. And that is it."
According to Rowland, the other women attended that carpet, whom she had claimed "did not quite look like" her "didn't get scolded or pushed off or told to get off."
"And I stood my ground and she felt like she had to stand hers. But I stood my ground. And that was it," Rowland concluded.
The 43-year-old singer-actress faced a bevy of diva accusations on social media after videos and photos of the altercation spread like wildfire online.

Page Six reported that when photographers at the festival were taking photos of Rowland, she was smiling and waving and appeared happy to be at the event. At one point, when Rowland was at the stairs, she was still waving to the press.
However, things began to escalate when the singer appeared to scold the female security guard who held her arm up on her back to guide her on the steps. The female security guard appeared to be talking to either the singer-actress or the male security guard on her right.
Whatever their conversation, it seemed like Rowland didn't like what happened as she appeared furious at the female security guard - even wagging her finger and pointing at her during what could be seen as a heated argument.
In the day that came after, Rowland was all smiles on the red carpet again without being bothered by any other security guard as she walked up the stairs.
Expert lip reader Jeremy Freeman told Page Six that in his analysis, the singer initially told the female security guard to "Don't worry" after she accidentally stepped on her dress.
However, her mood later shifted. According to Freeman, Rowland said, "Don't talk to me like that." Seconds later, she pointed her finger at the guard, allegedly saying, "You're not my mother. I told you not to talk to me like that."
