Some of Dolly Parton's biggest hits will be performed in an upcoming tour, but the singer won't be present onstage throughout the series of concerts. Instead, the tracks will be played by an orchestra.

The country legend just announced her tour trek, billed as Dolly Parton's Threads: My Songs in Symphony. The trek will feature an orchestra playing her songs, videos of her singing, and explanations of some of the stories behind the tracks.

Although the musician will not be present on stage or even perform herself, she was involved in creating the tour as she's named as a co-producer along with Sony Music Publishing and Schirmer Theatrical. David Hamilton arranges the orchestra songs.

There will also be special featured artists, which will be announced soon.

In a statement about her upcoming shows, Parton said, "I'm just so excited to share my songs and the stories behind them in this beautiful new way."

She added that the tour is like her "journey through the heartstrings of my life."

Fans should expect some of the singer's biggest hits throughout her career, such as "I Will Always Love You," "Jolene," "Coat of Many Colors," and more.

The first show will be launched on March 20, 2025, at the Nashville Symphony at Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

Parton has yet to reveal the official tour dates, but she's hoping that the concert will be expanded in the future, adding, "I hope we can take it far and wide to symphony orchestras everywhere."

The recent news comes almost two years after the country star spoke with Pollstar, in which she revealed her touring plans, saying she has no intention of going on a "full-blown tour" anymore.

Parton said she had toured her whole life, and it took her so much time and energy.

In addition, she wanted to spend her time with her husband as they were getting older, and she didn't want to be gone for four or five weeks at a time.

She went on to explain that she wouldn't feel right if she was gone and somebody needed her or her husband was sick at home, so she would walk out on her supporters.

As of this writing, tickets for the upcoming shows have yet to be announced.
