Jack Harlow's first-ever Gazebo Festival was set to be a two-day show featuring some of the biggest musicians in the music industry, but organizers of the inaugural event had no choice but to cancel the second day due to bad weather.
Taking to their official Instagram account, organizers issued a statement to all who had already bought tickets for the event's second day, saying their priority is the safety of patrons, artists, and staff members.
"Due to continuing hazardous conditions throughout the early afternoon and a second wave of weather expected this evening, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the remainder of Gazebo Festival," they wrote.
They later advised that all Sunday ticket holders will receive a full refund, while those who bought an All Weekend package will receive 50% of their payment. All refunds will be issued within the next 30 days.
Although the first day went as planned, Jack Harlow was devastated that he and his team had to cancel the second day due to the bad weather.
"I know things cleared up a little bit but the bad weather has damaged the site and there are more storms and dangerous winds on the way," he wrote, adding that the lineup for the second day, including himself, will no longer perform.
He also noted that he was trying to focus on the positive because he felt happy on the first day.
"I'm grateful for our flawless first day and for the way this city came together. Thank you so much. I'm sorry," he concluded.
According to Billboard, the first day was a massive success, featuring performers like SZA, Larry June, Majid Jordan, Raven Lenae, Jordan Ward, and James Blake.
The second day was supposed to feature a lineup of Pink Pantheress, Omar Apollo, Amaree, and many more.
Many fans expressed their disappointment in the comment section of the announcement, as one wrote, "I didn't pay my child support just to buy a day 2 ticket to see Jack. I'm so disappointed."
Another wrote, "I DONT WANT A REFUND I WANT TO SEE OMAR PINK AND JACK."
Other users understood the situation as one wrote, "The refunds are generous! Appreciate you making a tough, safe and responsible decision. And for keeping everyone informed!"
"Thank you for taking our safety seriously but I'd literally die in a tornado to see Channel Tres if he'd let me," one added.
