Several artists performed at the Sueños Festival over the weekend, but following Maluma's set, organizers had no choice but to cancel the event due to bad weather.

According to Billboard, festival organizers sent an email to the outlet, which was later posted and then taken down on social media, advising fans to evacuate and head to the nearest exit.

"Unfortunately, event is over due to weather. Gates will not reopen," they wrote.

In a new post, they revealed that after coordinating with the National Weather Service and Chicago City officials, they had to evacuate and cancel the remainder of the event because they wanted to prioritize the well-being of fans, artists, and staff.

The second day of the event had been delayed due to severe weather alerts as the first update was sent out at 8 a.m. Instead of opening the gates at noon, the event was opened to the public at 4 p.m., and they shuffled the performers for a shorter lineup.

Minutes before opening the gates at Grant Park in Chicago, organizers announced that they had re-added musicians like Gabito Ballesteros and Bad Gyal, who had been initially removed.

Maluma was able to take the stage and perform in front of his fans, but the event was shut down after his set.

The musician wrote to his official Instagram account, "The short time the weather allowed us to share together was the most chimba (best)... Just when the best part was about to begin, the storm scared us away. I love you."

Peso Pluma was set to close the event later that day, but unfortunately, the event was canceled, so he didn't make it to his set.

Minutes after the announcement, he took to social media, writing, "I have bad news... I just left the festival, they are evacuating everyone, they evacuated me too. My set was canceled because it's supposed to rain heavily here in Chicago, with thunder."

He added that city officials will not let the event go through, but he will update his supporters if he gets more information.

"I hope you understand this is out of our hands, it's because of the weather. I hope I can give you a good show here in Chicago when it's possible," he added.

According to the recent announcement, more details regarding the partial refund will be released tomorrow.
