Beyoncé was bullied as a kid before becoming one of the industry's most successful singers, her mom Tina Knowles revealed.
Speaking in a new interview with Vogue, Tina opened up about her eldest child's struggles growing up. She revealed that the "TEXAS HOLD 'EM" singer was a shy kid, and she suffered from bullying at the time.
"Beyoncé, she was very shy and she got bullied a bit but the day that she stood up for someone - she didn't stand up for herself she stood up for them," said Tina in the video shared on the magazine's Instagram page.
The 70-year-old fashion designer got emotional as she answered the question about the memory from Beyoncé's childhood, saying she could not have been prouder of the "Crazy in Love" hitmaker.
Aside from Beyoncé, Solange also made Mama Knowles proud with her social activism before her Hollywood debut.
"My three girls all handled things very differently. Learn their personalities and respect the individuality," Tina said. "Never compare the negatives, always praise the positive differences and pay attention to the things that you can brag on about them. They love it and it encourages positive behavior."

Tina's revelation came after a New Orleans group sued Beyoncé over her track, "Break My Soul," as they accused her of copyright infringement.
The complaint, obtained by Rolling Stone, cited the members of Da Showstoppaz - Tessa Avie, Keva Bourgeois, Henri Braggs and Brian Clark - who claimed that the "Halo" singer allegedly used "copyrighted lyrics, melody, and musical arrangement" from their 2002 song "Release a Wiggle."
"Defendants used Plaintiffs' words, melody, and musical arrangement from their copyrighted works to create an album as homage to 'uncle Johnny' who exposed the music and culture of the LGBTQ community of greater New Orleans, of which three members are strongly affiliated with themselves, all displayed in its full force - the tone, actual words, melody, musical arrangement of bounce music," the suit claimed.
The group named Beyoncé, Big Freedia, Jay-Z, Sony Music and more as defendants. They filed the case as they asked to be credited and given compensation rights, as well as royalties.
Beyoncé released "Break My Soul" as the first single from her Renaissance album. She has yet to respond to the lawsuit.
