Many fans remember Dylan Minnette for his acting stint on the popular Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, but it appears that the star won't come back to his acting days anytime soon as he revealed that he's now focusing on music; why did he decide to step away from acting?

Minnette, now the singer behind the band Wallows, recently spoke in an interview on The Zach Sang Show, where he said he was "fortunate" to be successful as an actor. However, it took a toll on him.

"We've always worked a ton, and then I was on 13 Reasons Why, and it was really popular and definitely reached a peak in what I've had in acting," he said, adding that it started to "feel like a bit of a job."

Although he acknowledged that he was in a fortunate position and that working as an actor inspired him, it started to "feel like just a job."

The vocalist clarified that he won't leave the acting industry for good. He noted that he still has something to give artistically outside his work as a musician, but he will only return if he feels that the timing is right.

He attempted to act again last year, but unfortunately, it was the actor's strike.

Regardless, the singer feels "incredibly privileged" to have chosen a different career path and is now focused on being Wallows' lead singer.

"Wallows and music is this passion that we've always had as a group to really take all the way up as far as we can," he said, adding that he's currently in the position where he could be a singer for a while.

"I feel like [to] get this the farthest it can go, the only way that's gonna happen is if I put my 100% [of my] time and energy into it and take it very seriously," he said.

In other updates about Wallows, the band, consisting of Minnette, Braeden Lemasters, and Cole Preston, just released their third album, Model, a few days ago.

They will also embark on a tour across North America, which includes stops at Portland, Vancouver, Wamu, Boise, Las Vegas, Austin, and more, and a European trek in Birmingham, Manchester, Luxembourg, and more.

More details about the group's upcoming shows are available on their official website.
