Nicki Minaj is taking her U.K. concerts very seriously.

Following her arrest in Amsterdam, the Grammy-nominee finally took to the stage in Birmingham on Sunday, where she debuted a new British accent.

In a bizarre video that is circulating social media, Minaj takes on a new British persona, similar to her former "Roman" alter ego. The clip features her calling Princess Diana a "dear friend" before instructing the audience to have a brief, awkward moment of silence for the late figure.

"Wales. It always reminds me of a dear friend of mine, well, she's not here anymore, but the Princess of Wales," Minaj told the Pink Friday 2 concert audience. "Let's have a moment of silence for her."

The "FTCU" rapper then held her hands together in prayer before going silent for a few seconds. She then continued on with the show, still speaking in her British accent.

While the rapper pretended to be friends with the iconic royal family member during her concert, she was just 14 years old and living in the Bronx when Diana had tragically passed away in 1997.

Before the show, Minaj had stated that she was looking forward to trying out her British accent at her upcoming shows in the area.

"#GagCityMANCHESTER is next up. Oh wow. Bcfdgbnnmfdxsfvhujmnghjj. Can't wait to do my fake British accent all night. so annoying," she posted on X, formerly Twitter. "I wonder if they'll be louder than #GagCityAMSTERDAM. Hmmmm *thinks*."

After the "Super Freaky Girl" singer posted about the aforementioned Manchester performance, it was delayed after she was detained in Amsterdam for suspicions of carrying illegal substances. After she filmed the authorities during the incident, she was successfully able to vacate the country. However, she ended up canceling her show at the Co-op live venue 30 minutes before it was supposed to start.

Social media reactions to the moment of silence were mixed, with many calling the moment "bizarre" and "unserious" for pretending to be friends with the Princess.

"The way the minute's silence was 3 and a half seconds," one fan replied, while another commented that "Welsh accents are completely different" from the London accent that Minaj was doing.

Others also pointed out that they were happy to see the "Starships" singer in good spirits after the complications in Amsterdam.

"Nicki Minaj holding a minute's silence for Princess Diana is not what I ever expected to see in my life but is absolutely essential viewing for us Di fans. Beautiful," a fan shared.

"Nicki Minaj just cured my depression with her words of wisdom and british accent," a concert attendee posted on social media.

"Nicki British accent will always be a ki," another one of her Barbz stated.

Following her successful leg of shows in Europe, Minaj will be returning to the U.S. this fall. While the tour kicked off in North America earlier this year, she says that it was "so successful" that she had been offered another leg.
