Adele might be interested in replacing Katy Perry on American Idol.

The "Easy On Me" singer is reportedly considering filling the empty seat on the hit singing competition series while she continues to expand her family.

"Adele has been focusing on having a baby with Rich [Paul, her boyfriend of three years], but she doesn't want to be touring at the same time," a source said to Heat World.

The Grammy-winner has been vocal about her wishes to welcome another child in the near future. At a recent performance of her acclaimed Las Vegas residency, she revealed that she would like to welcome a girl and is currently thinking of potential names.

Now, as she prepares to go back into mom-mode, the "Chasing Pavements" songstress is interested in screen work, potentially circling Perry's former spot on Idol.

"[Touring] takes a lot out of her and she's looking at gigs that would get her the same pay cheque, but with less work involved, as she wants to get pregnant soon," the source reveals. "Her team were still shocked when she said she was interested in doing TV work and that she had her eye on Katy's spot on American Idol."

While the move would initially shock audiences, a spot on a competitive series like Idol has proven to be a lucrative one. The "Teenage Dream" singer allegedly made a whopping $25 million per season from ABC to judge the show.

Ariana Grande similarly shocked fans when she signed on to be a judge on The Voice for one season. However, the "We Can't Be Friends" hitmaker brought in around $20 to $25 million during her duration on the program. Working on the NBCUniversal-produced show also formed her relationship with the company prior to teaming with them on the upcoming Wicked movie musical adaptation.

Adele has reportedly seen the type of money that can be brought in from taking a spot in a musical series, which would help fund her lavish Hollywood lifestyle.

"People may think Adele doesn't need money, but her luxe life in Beverly Hills requires a constant cash flow," the source continued. "She loves the idea of raking in the cash for essentially sitting down and listening to people sing. Plus, she feels she could time it just right with getting pregnant again."

Perry gave birth to her daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, during her time as a judge on the show. She also launched her fifth studio album, Smile, while appearing on the series, which allowed her to promote the record during various episodes.

Several eyes have been on the "Roar" hitmaker's vacant spot since her recent departure. Country singer Jelly Roll seems to be ready to go, while P!nk insists that she would not be a good enough fit for the job. Jon Bon Jovi has also been rumored to fill the position, but reports that he wants to match Perry's salary insinuate that it may not be as much of a go.

Resident judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie earn $10 million and $12 each while working on the show. They will remain on the show for its upcoming 23rd season.
