Singer Dua Lipa has taken a bold stance in calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Taking to Instagram, Lipa shared an Artists for Ceasefire poster on her Instagram Stories and implored her followers to take a stand, too.

"Burning children alive can never be justified," she captioned her story. "The whole world is mobilising to stop the Israeli genocide. Show your solidarity with Gaza. #AllEyesOnRafah"

Lipa's recent statement came days after The Associated Press reported that Israel had launched airstrikes on the southern city of Gaza, Rafah, which eventually killed at least 37 people in two days.

In 2023, Lipa signed an open letter for the "Artists4Ceasefire" to US President Joe Biden to stop the bombing in the Gaza Strip in Palestine as the Israel-Hamas war ensues.

"We urge your administration, Congress, and all world leaders, to honor all of the lives in the Holy Land and call for and facilitate a ceasefire without delay - an end to the bombing of Gaza, and the safe release of hostages. Half of Gaza's two million residents are children, and more than two thirds are refugees and their descendants being forced to flee their homes. Humanitarian aid must be allowed to reach them," the letter read.

The letter's signatories included Drake, Jennifer Lopez, Jon Batiste, Zayn, Frank Ocean, and Killer Mike, among many other artists, including television stars Quinta Brunson and Jeremy Allen White.

Lipa has since been very staunch in her political stances. She candidly spoke to Rolling Stone about the reason for her political awareness.

"My existence is kind of political, the fact that I lived in London because my parents left from the war," the Albanian-born pop star revealed. "I feel for people who have to leave their home. From my experience of being in Kosovo and understanding what war does, no one really wants to leave their home. They do it for protection, to save their family, to look after the people around them, that kind of thing, for a better life. So I feel close to it."

According to the "Levitating" singer, her feelings about "displaced people" are "very real and raw."

"It is a difficult subject to speak about because it's so divisive," she confirmed.

Aside from Lipa, several artists, such as Lizzo, Cardi B, Renee Rapp, and Victoria Monet, have also expressed their support for Palestine and called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire.
