A legal expert claims singer-actress Jennifer Lopez might be entangled in Sean "Diddy" Combs' legal scandals as she could be subpoenaed to testify against him.

New York lawyer Pete Gleeson explained to In Touch Weekly how Lopez's relationship with Diddy in the 1990s could be relevant to two of the seven ongoing lawsuits against the rap mogul. Lopez and Diddy dated in 1999 and split up in 2001.

According to Gleeson, Lopez's presence and eventual arrest in the infamous 1999 Manhattan club shooting might be crucial to Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones Jr.'s scathing lawsuit against Diddy.

"Jennifer Lopez's presence the night of the shooting incident and then departing in the same vehicle as Combs makes her a witness with firsthand knowledge and could subject her to being subpoenaed to testify under oath. If there are any criminal charges or civil claims not outside the statute of limitations, this would likely prove problematic for Lopez," Gleeson shared.

In Lil Rod's $30 million sexual assault and harassment lawsuit against Diddy, he claimed that the rapper "displayed his guns and bragged about getting away with shooting people." The producer's claim revived interest in the said shooting, which got the "Let's Get Loud" singer arrested, along with Diddy and rapper Shyne.

Charges against Lopez were eventually dropped, Diddy was acquitted, and Shyne was convicted of five charges and served for ten years. The latter, now the opposition leader in Belize, maintained that he was the "fall guy" for the incident.

Meanwhile, Diddy's team has dismissed Lil Rod's lawsuit.

"Mr. Jones is nothing more than a con man, shamelessly looking for an easy and wholly undeserved payday. We have indisputable, incontrovertible proof that his claims are complete fabrications," Diddy's legal camp said in a statement.

Aside from Lil Rod's lawsuit, Lopez could also be of great interest in the April Lampros case.

"While the mid-90s were the infancy of today's technology, a footprint of communication could still exist. Regardless, anyone is subject to a subpoena if they can provide relevant testimony," Gleason explained.

At 51, Lampros alleged in her lawsuit that Diddy had drugged and sexually assaulted her while being in a relationship with Lopez. She recalled having four terrifying sexual encounters throughout the years she was in contact with Diddy.

Diddy allegedly "had a terrible temper and often threatened to harm her if she failed to do what he said if he witnessed her talking to other men, or if she failed to take his phone calls.

Sources have told CNN that Diddy's accusers may soon face a federal grand jury to hear their grievances, which, if proven substantial, could help prosecutors serve an indictment on the rap mogul.
