Bebe Rexha is opening up about her struggle with PCOS, which includes symptoms of weight gain cysts, acne, and more.

According to Women's Health, PCOS - which stands for polycystic ovary syndrome - causes women to "have a hormonal imbalance and metabolism problems that may affect their overall health and appearance."

The "Meant to Be" singer listed off what she has dealt with in a new TikTok, first giving insight to her extensive periods that can last most of the month.

"In February, what is it? 28 days? I had my period for 20 days," she revealed. "10 days on my period, a week off, and then another 10 days. Some months I won't get my period. Super, super irregular."

The next symptom she says she faces is weight gain. Within the past four years, she says she has gained a significant amount of weight. While counting calories, she would put herself through extreme workouts to combat the increase.

"I gained a lot of weight in like four years. Like, a lot. I remember going to my doctor and I was counting my calories," she revealed. "I was weighing things daily, writing in, you know 5.2 oz of chicken, 3.2 oz of steak, or whatever, ribeye. I would have like 1400 calories a day and then I would work out 1-2 times a day, burning anywhere from like 500 to 700 calories depending on what strength cardio I did."

Once she visited a doctor, she was able to put the symptoms into perspective. Although she was consuming traditionally healthy foods, the condition results in abnormal weight gain.

"My doctor was like, 'Do you think that's sustainable to be eating 1400 calories and burning 700?' My doctor once told me that a woman with PCOS can eat a bowl of blueberries and it would be equivalent to like a normal person eating a whole pie of pizza."

The "I'm Good" songstress also deals with bad cysts. She states that she was forced to go to urgent care due to extreme pains.

"Another thing that I notice is bad cysts," she continued. "Two weeks ago I was in Urgent Care. I was in so much pain. My doctor thought it was an appendicitis, it was so bad. It was actually a cyst that had burst. Tylenol didn't work, Advil didn't work. I was sick to my stomach the pain was so bad. The only thing that helped me, and I think you should try this if you have cysts, is a heating pad."

Finally, Rexha also faces bad acne and bloating. While she has not had flare-ups for prominent events, like her set at Coachella, she does frequently breakout on her neck.

"Another symptom I notice is that I get breakouts here but I've been super lucky because I haven't had a crazy breakout during an event or something like that. But like, I will get super bloated. That's one thing that sucks."

The Grammy-nominee has addressed public scrutiny over her appearance. Last year, she said that while it does come with the territory of being in the public eye, other people's weight should no longer be the topic of conversation.

"Listen, we're in the public eye, so that's bound to happen, especially, like, I was a lot thinner and I did gain some weight ... But, that comes with the territory. I'm not mad about it because it is true," she says. "It kind of is tough. But I feel like we're in 2023, we should not be talking about people's weight."
