While some stars ended Coachella weekend with extravagant after-parties, Bebe Rexha ended hers with a shift at McDonald's.
After the Grammy-nominee performed some of her hits like "Meant to Be" and "I'm Good (Blue)" during her set at the California-based music festival on Sunday, she seemingly punched in at the fast food chain.
The singer suited up in a McDonald's uniform, complete with her own name tag and branded visor, as the workers branded her as one of their "elite employees." It is unclear how she found herself behind the counter, but Rexha seemed to be enjoying herself in a video recorded by an employee.
She called the employees "so cute" as they excitedly got her into her uniform. Rexha was one step ahead of the employees when she already knew to tell potential customers that the ice cream machine "is broken" when they order, referencing a viral meme that the food chain's frozen desserts are rarely available.
After performing a career-spanning, 12-song set at Coachella, the "Sacrifice" singer put on another show when she began twerking on the infamous ice cream machine. She joked that "The machine is broken, sorry," as onlookers laughed with her.
Rexha's pop-up stint at McDonald's comes after a fellow Coachella performer took on a similar role at another food chain last year.
Lana Del Rey, who headlined the festival on Friday, picked up a shift at a Waffle House in Florence, Alabama last summer. After she had spent nearly three hours hanging out in the establishment, employees offered her a uniform and name tag, which she says she was "thrilled" about.
"We were on our third hour, and the servers asked, 'Do you guys want shirts?' " she explained to The Hollywood Reporter. "Hell yeah! We were thrilled."
Photos of the "Young and Beautiful" singer working in the restaurant quickly went viral, with no explanation from her team on why she was pouring coffee and interacting with customers. After she finally told the story of how it came to be, she jokes that she wishes her album, "Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd?," got as much attention.
"I wish my album had gone as viral. I woke up to, like, 10,000 texts the next morning - some from folks I had not heard from for 10 years," Del Rey said about the interest in her venture as a server. "'Saw your picture at the Waffle House!'" I was like, 'Did you hear the new album?'"
Del Rey's performance at Coachella was met with praise, with guests like Billie Eilish, Camila Cabello, Jack Antonoff, and more joining her throughout the two-weekend run.
Rexha, on the other hand, performed a completely solo set. However, she did perform her own versions of the acclaimed collaborations she has dropped in past years, including hits with David Guetta, G-Eazy, The Chainsmokers, and Martin Garrix.
Her Coachella appearance also included a performance of a yet-to-be-released single, "Chase It (Mmm Da Da Da)." She first teased the song on her Instagram account before the festival, with her dancers joining her for a video that gives a first listen to the song.
