Jennifer Lopez Heartbreak Imminent, Ben Affleck Marriage Was Doomed: 'No Way It Could Have Lasted,' Insiders Say

Reports are circulating that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck may be heading toward divorce, with insiders suggesting that she "feels like such a fool."

According to a source familiar with the couple, less than 24 months after their Las Vegas wedding, it was already clear that "there's no way it could have lasted."

A close insider who spoke to In Touch Weekly said, "They reunited 20 years after they first broke up, only to see everything fall apart again."

Not too long ago, Affleck was sighted in public without his wedding ring, sparking speculation about his marriage hitting a rough patch. Despite persistent divorce speculations, the actor was later seen wearing his wedding band again, yet skepticism remained prevalent.

The insider commented on the uncertainty in their marriage dynamics, saying neither of them can exert influence over the other. The celebrity duo's tensions led to Affleck relocating from their lavish $61 million estate to a temporary residence costing $100,000 monthly, conveniently close to her partner's former wife, Jennifer Garner.

Reigniting their love story in a surprising twist, Affleck and Lopez shocked their fans by reconciling in 2021, nearly two decades after their initial engagement ended in 2004. Swiftly advancing their relationship, the pair exchanged vows in July 2022.

The insider added, "All this time, [Affleck] friends and family have been asking him what he was thinking - and he doesn't have a good answer. It's like he was under a spell. He made a huge mistake and feels like such a fool."

The source also suggests that the "Get Right" singer embraces her romantic side with unwavering hopefulness.

"She's desperate to save the relationship, not just because she still loves him, but she also wants to save face, from having a fourth failed marriage."

They added, "Their final days and nights together were excruciatingly difficult. She begged Ben for a second chance, but he said no."

Reuniting once more, they gathered to witness the school play performance of Affleck's 15-year-old daughter.

"But [Affleck] avoided showing [Lopez] any real affection."

They noted, "He didn't hold her hand or get out to open the car door for her. He just drove her home, then went back to his rental. He can't - or won't - fake that everything is fine."

The Gone Girl actor made a single concession during the outing, however, - opting to wear his wedding band. However, the source concluded that this gesture was only temporary, adding, "And [Lopez] is devastated."
