During the Big Slick Celebrity Weekend in Kansas City, Missouri, on June 1, actor Jason Sudeikis playfully teased Travis Kelce about his relationship with Taylor Swift.
In a skit, Sudeikis, along with actors Robert Smigel and George Wendt, jokingly asked Kelce if wedding bells were in their future.
In the video posted on X (formerly Twitter), Sudeikis, sporting a fake mustache, sunglasses, and a cap, engaged in banter with Kelce and the other actors.
Sudeikis, in character, cheekily questioned Kelce about when he might propose to Swift.
"Hey Travis, real talk OK, just the guys here ..." he started.
Sudeikis then tilted his sunglasses and looked at Kelce pointedly before dropping the question Swifties wanted the answer to for such a long time now, "Hey ... when are you going to make an honest woman out of her?," referring to the pop star.
The audience erupted in cheers as Kelce, clad in a printed shirt, black pants, and a black cap for the occasion, grinned and rubbed his beard in response to the question, though he remained tight-lipped. He's simply nonplussed.
"Taylor doesn't need to be working anymore," Sudeikis continued.
He then added: "I know your kicker agrees with me," seemingly alluding to Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker's recent controversial remarks against working women during a commencement speech at Benedictine College, a Catholic institution.
The smile could just mean Kelce cannot answer the question yet, since he and Swift appear to be not that in a rush to tie the knot.
After a romantic getaway to Lake Como, Italy, both seem more enamored than ever as they approach their one-year dating anniversary in July. Despite recent speculation suggesting otherwise, some sources said wedding plans are not in the immediate future.
According to insiders who spoke to Us Weekly, Kelce is proceeding at his own pace in the relationship. One said, "Travis has no plans on proposing to Taylor anytime soon. It's not even on his radar. Marriage is something he takes very seriously and not something he would ever just jump into without giving it some careful consideration."
The sources emphasized Kelce's deep feelings for Swift but emphasized that he's not yet at the point of considering marriage.
The smile is also very Travis Kelce. He has never answered any marriage-related questions in the past so he's not likely to start now. Same goes for Taylor Swift. Despite all the allegations about them getting married, the two never tried to address the continuous reports about their supposed trajectory.
Kelce and Swift officially debuted their romance in September 2023, marking their public appearance together when Swift attended a Kansas City Chiefs game. Their affection became more apparent when they were spotted hand in hand departing a Saturday Night Live afterparty in October.
Despite maintaining a level of privacy regarding their relationship, Kelce hasn't been shy about mentioning Swift in various interviews.
Swift, on the other hand, appears to have woven hints of their relationship into several tracks on her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department.
