Cyndi Lauper just announced the final tour of her career, which will kick off later this year. More recently, the iconic pop star explained why she decided to go on a farewell series of shows despite her thriving.

The musician spoke with Jimmy Kimmel in an interview to reveal why she felt it was the right time to give her fans her final tour. She said she was uncertain of what would happen to her in a few years.

"I'm strong now, but I don't know what I'm going to be like in four years," she said, adding that she wanted to do her final tour since she's still in good shape.

"For me, I wanted to have a chance to do this when I'm feeling strong. I want to celebrate with people. Really celebrate with people, and make it fun," she added.

Lauper will embark on her first full-scale arena tour in over a decade, starting at the Bell Centre in Montreal, QC, on October 10, 2024.

She will head to major cities across the United States and Canada, like Tampa, Dallas, Austin, Toronto, Detroit, Washington DC, Columbus, San Diego, Los Angeles, and more.

Her last show is set at the United Center in Chicago, IL, on December 5, 2024.

Billed as the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour, tickets are currently on pre-sale via Ticketmaster (use the codes HAVEFUN or CHORD).
