Ice Spice unveiled the official cover art of her upcoming album Y2K, which will be released next month. However, upon sharing the visual with her fans, many people pointed out the placement of her title, deeming it "trash."

The album art, shot by Dave LaChapelle, features Ice Spice leaning on a concrete wall. Elements seemingly referencing her New York City roots, including a subway station, graffiti, and the title of her album placed on a trashcan, are also present.

Taking to the reply section of her post on X, one wrote, "They put the album name on the trash can... baby they already know."

Other people continued sharing negative comments, with one adding, "Nobody gaf about album covers looking good anymore?"

"Why they put the album name on the TRASH CAN... They already ate her so bad," one wrote.

The "Think U The S*** (Fart)" rapper finally responded to critics by sharing a Polaroid photo of herself and Dave LaChappelle.

In the caption, she wrote, "David LaChapelle is #Y2K! soooo sweet + legendary he didn't even charge me cus he f**** wit a real b****."

She expressed her gratitude to the famed photographer for the "incredible art" he has produced over the years.

"This cover means everything to me," she noted, adding that the title of her album was purposely placed on a trashcan, and it's up for fans to figure out why.

Ice Spice's new album, Y2K, will be released on July 26, 2024, via 10K Projects/Capitol Records. The musician gave fans an insight into the sound of her project by releasing singles like "Gimmie a Light" and "Think U the S*** (Fart)."

This is the rapper's debut album, but she released her first EP last year, Like...?, followed by a deluxe edition later that year.

In other updates about the "Boy's a Liar Pt. 2" rapper, she will embark on a tour later this year, which includes stops at different music festivals, such as the Roskilde Festival, Open'er Festival, Rolling Loud, Wireless Festival, Openair Frauenfeld, Dour Festival, and more.

She will be accompanied by her supporting act, Cash Cobain

More information about her upcoming 2024 shows, tickets, and complete tour dates are available on her official website.
