Jennifer Lopez's desire to make her relationship with Ben Affleck left her husband mortified at one point.

Lopez and Affleck have been dealing with different issues over the past months, especially after they showed "signs" of marital woes. Amid the lingering divorce buzz, a resurfaced moment where Affleck looked uncomfortable due to Lopez's behavior scored the public's attention.

The Greatest Love Story Never Told, Lopez's documentary, featured the handwritten love letters she received from the Justice League actor. The "Let's Get Loud" singer showed them to her employees and friends - and it did not sit well with Affleck.

"My book that I had given her was down there. She's like 'I've been reading it to people. This is kind of the inspiration and I've been showing them the book.' I was like you've been showing all the musicians all those letters... and they were like 'Yeah we call you Pen Affleck.' And I was like 'oh my god,'" said the Good Will Hunting star.

Affleck expressed his dismay after Lopez shared the private letters, saying it was ironic to show it when "it is the greatest love story never told."

In the same documentary, the Deep Water singer also highlighted his desire to keep things private - contradicting what Lopez has always done since they reunited.

An insider shared a similar sentiment to In Touch. According to the source, Affleck was "blinded by lust" when he and Lopez reunited in 2021, nearly two decades after calling off their first engagement due to intense media attention.

"At first, Ben was caught up in the excitement," the source added. "He started to get embarrassed when his friends made fun of him, but when he tried to tone it down, she refused to let him off the hook. He got to a point where he resented having to put on a show!"

His infamous meme, Sad Affleck, reportedly returned and became more noticeable since dating and marrying Lopez. The meme - which shows the actor in his sad, resting face - began when he was in a Batman v Superman interview with Henry Cavill.

"It taught me not to do interviews with Henry Cavill where I don't say anything and they can lay Simon and Garfunkel tracks over it. That's one thing I learned," Affleck told BBC Radio 1.
