Celine Dion's Brave Words to Her Kids Amid Stiff Person Syndrome Struggle Revealed

Celine Dion has revealed how she handled shared her medical diagnosis to her sons.

The Grammy award-winning Canadian singer revealed that she was reluctant to make her children, René-Charles, 23, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 13, feel anxious and felt compelled to inform them once they became aware of her health condition.

Speaking to People magazine, Dion said, "I barely could walk at one point, and I was missing very much living. My kids started to notice."

She went on to say, "I was like, 'Okay, they already lost a parent. I don't want them to be scared.

"I let them know, 'You lost your dad, [but] mom has a condition and it's different. I'm not going to die. It's something that I'm going to learn to live with."

The 56-year-old "My Heart Will Go On" singer bravely told her followers that she was battling Stiff Person Syndrome in December 2022.

Dion said in a statement at the time that for quite some time, she had been grappling with health issues that have posed significant challenges for her. Discussing the struggles and experiences she have faced has reportedly been difficult, however, she knew it was something she needed to confront.

Dion later on made her debut in the acting world in 2023 by taking on a role in the movie Love Again alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan after having to call off her upcoming music performances because of her health condition.

The "I'm Alive" hitmaker also shared her sentiments, struggling to contain her emotions as she grappled with the effects of her Stiff-Person Syndrome, which hindered her performance on stage. Dion's ongoing health struggles led to the unfortunate cancellation of her worldwide tour.
