Sir Rod Stewart, aged 79, entertained guests at the inaugural King's Foundation awards ceremony in London alongside his wife, Penny Lancaster.
Reflecting on his own knighthood bestowed upon him in 2016, the rock star couldn't resist injecting a bit of humor into the evening.
During his brief remarks, he jovially predicted that footballing legend David Beckham, aged 49, would soon follow in his footsteps and receive the prestigious honor. In a video shared on X, Sir Rod expressed his and Penny's gratitude for serving as ambassadors for the King's Trust, before playfully teasing Beckham about his imminent knighthood, stating, "David, yours is coming soon."
David Beckham, former England captain, is yet to join the esteemed ranks of fellow sports stars who have received knighthoods, a list that includes luminaries such as the late Sir Bobby Charlton and former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Despite this, Beckham was bestowed with an OBE in 2003 for his contributions to football.
At a regal event in London, the former Manchester United player was among several notable personalities in attendance. He was spotted sharing a lighthearted moment with the monarch, who exuded elegance at 75, while Beckham himself looked dashing in a black suit and tie.
