Despite being one of the biggest pop stars in the world, Miley Cyrus reveals that she doesn't have that many friends in the entertainment industry.
Speaking to David Letterman, Cyrus shared her reasons for being skeptical about befriending her colleagues.
"I'm not very active and I'm not a very active part of my community of other artists, entertainers and celebrities," Cyrus revealed, as reported by Marca. "I just don't feel like my people when I'm in those kinds of places. But there are certain artists like Beyonce, who, like us, have known each other for a long time."
According to Cyrus, she prefers "quality" over "quantity," confessing that she has few people within her reach.
In the interview, Cyrus recalled standing in line with greats like Mary J. Blige and Mariah Carey and being in the middle of Rihanna and Beyoncé at the 2008 Just Stand Up performance of "Just Stand Up."
"I was kind of sandwiched between Rihanna and Queen Bey," Cyrus remembered. "Who were all grown up, beautiful, probably similar to my age now. They were like two towers towering over me, completely stunning. I was tiny, I had acne, braces on the back of my teeth and I'm next to Mariah Carey, who was dripping in diamonds, and Beyonce was very nice to me."
Aside from Bey, Mariah, and Rih, Cyrus spoke fondly of her godmother, the great Dolly Parton.
Apparently, Parton was responsible for pushing Cyrus to attend the 2024 Grammy Awards.
"I told her, 'I'm wondering if I'm going to do the Grammys or not,'" Cyrus recalled telling the Country icon. "And she said, 'Well, of course you're going to do the Grammys. And you're not just going to show up but you're going to show off. And you're going to be everything that you are sitting right here in front of me. And she said, 'And don't forget about the beauty-the hair, the makeup, the whole show. You know, it's armor for us.'"
Cyrus then had the biggest nights of her career. She won her first two Grammy Awards for her song "Flowers" - Best Pop Solo Performance and Record of the Year.
Cyrus' episode of David Letterman's My Next Guest Needs No Introduction is already streaming on Netflix.
