Aside from the iconic music he has released over the past decades, Willie Nelson is also popularly known for his braided hairstyle. However, there have been reports about his noticeable locks thinning to the point that he's preparing for a hair transplant.
According to Radar Online, the 91-year-old musician plans to undergo a makeover before releasing Willie and Annie Nelson's Cannabis Cookbook. Still, he's starting on the top as a source claimed that the musician is suffering from thinning hair.
"Willie's ailing health is one thing, but his thinning hair looks a shambles and he and Annie agree it could use some help," the insider said, adding that although hair extensions could look good on him, the singer is willing to undergo treatments and get hair transplants to "fill in the gaps."
The source further noted that since the singer's hair has been a big part of his image, he takes good care of his crowning glory by cleansing and conditioning it "as a ritual," and even sleeps with hair masks.
In addition to his hair, he's also using many products around his body, like CBD cream, eye serums, massage oil, lip butter, and other skincare products.
"He might be over 90, but he's still got an ego the size of America and wants to look good while making the rounds to plug his new cookbook," the source added.
The recent report comes after Willie Nelson announced that he will be publishing a cookbook featuring recipes infused with cannabis.
The book, which he wrote alongside his wife Annie, aims to share "his gift for storytelling and herbal remedies with his wife Annie's passion for home-cooked meals."
"The recipes themselves are delicious and easy to make at home. Buffalo wings, chocolate cake, fried chicken. Only the good stuff," the book description reads.
Some of the recipes will be based on meals that he had on tours, at home, in the cities where he performed, and more.
The book will be published on November 12, but it's now available for pre-order on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Target.
In other updates about Willie Nelson, the singer will perform at Chris Stapleton's All-American Road Show at T-Mobile Park with Sheryl Crow in Seattle, WA, on July 27, 2024.
More details about the musician's upcoming shows are available on his official website.
