SZA has been harvesting the fruit of her labor over the past few years and has received countless honors from major award-giving bodies. More recently, the musician received yet another award, and she was grateful for it, saying it validated her.

According to People magazine, SOS hitmaker was honored at the Songwriters Hall of Fame with the Hal David Starlight Award. This award recognizes her work as a musician, especially her skills in writing her own songs.

"I'm just beyond all of my wildest dreams... I'm just so grateful... Thank you for seeing me," she said after Nile Rodgers presented her award.

SZA further noted that it means the world to her to win an award, especially because she's a Black woman. Following her speech, she took the stage to perform an acoustic rendition of her hit single, "Snooze."

The "Broken Clocks" has continued receiving awards over the past few years, especially after she released her latest album, SOS.

The album has already won the Grammy Awards, the Billboard Music Awards, the Brit Awards, and the iHeartRadio Music Awards.

SZA wasn't the first Hal David Starlight Awardee, as this category has previously honored renowned musicians such as Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Post Malone, and Lil Nas X.

The event, which took place at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York, featured other artists such as Donald Fagen and Walter Becker of Steely Dan, Mike Mills and Michael Stipe of R.E.M., Timbaland, and many more.

In other news about the singer, she will be making a few festival appearances over the next few months, including the Summerfest on June 22, the BST Hyde Park in London on June 29, Lollapalooza Chicago on August 2, and the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival 2024 in Montreal, QC.

More details about her upcoming shows are available on her official website.

Regarding new music, fans have been waiting for SZA to release the deluxe edition of SOS, which will be a separate LP called Lana.

It was supposed to come out earlier this year, but after it was leaked to the public, the musician announced that she had to push back the release date.

As of this writing, she has yet to reveal when she will drop the highly-anticipated record, but she already released a new song called "Saturn" from the album.
