Joe Alwyn is making a heartfelt plea amid all the buzz about his failed relationship with Taylor Swift.

He's finally speaking up about Swift after keeping mum about it for so long, even when some of Swift's newest album The Tortured Poets Department's tracks featured their relationship and their breakup.

Alwyn hopes people can empathize with the challenges of navigating his publicized split from Taylor Swift and respect his decision to maintain privacy about their relationship.

"I would hope that anyone and everyone can empathise and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years," he told the Times in an interview published Saturday, making his first official comments following their separation. "That is a hard thing to navigate."

"What is unusual and abnormal in this situation is that, one week later," he added, "it's suddenly in the public domain and the outside world is able to weigh in."

Alwyn, 33, continued, "So you have something very real suddenly thrown into a very unreal space: tabloids, social media, press, where it is then dissected, speculated on, pulled out of shape beyond recognition."

"And the truth is, to that last point, there is always going to be a gap between what is known and what is said. I have made my peace with that."

This is a fair observation from Alwyn.

It can even be seen now on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship, since they are now the ones dating and under intense scrutiny. It remains to be seen if what Alwyn experienced will be experienced by Kelce if the unfortunate thing happened and he and Swift break up (But God forbid!).

To recall, Swift and Alwyn split a few weeks ago after dating for six years, and a source close to both revealed to People magazine that the breakup was primarily due to "differences in their personalities."

"They've had rough patches before and always worked things out, so friends thought they would take some time apart but eventually come back together," the source said.

The "Lavender Haze" musician was first linked publicly to the British actor in May 2017, when it was revealed that they had quietly been dating for months. While the exact date of their first meeting is unclear, fans have speculated that Swift and Alwyn first crossed paths at the 2016 Met Gala.
